My name is Kaylah Igarta, the founder of Igarta Creatives LLC. I’m a former Division I field hockey player and my work is shaped by both my experience as an athlete and my background in neuroscience, psychology, business and healthcare.
I’ve always been drawn to understanding people, how they think, how they show up and what often goes unseen. As a queer, biracial woman, I’ve moved through spaces where being fully seen wasn’t always guaranteed. That perspective naturally became a part of how I approach my work. Photography, for me, isn’t just about capturing what something looks like, it’s about capturing what it feels like to be in that moment.
I work with athletes, teams and organizations to create images that feel real, elevated and aligned with who they are. Not just what they do. Whether it’s game-day coverage, portrait sessions or larger brand work, the goal is always the same: to create visuals that people can connect to and see themselves in.
And it’s part of something bigger.
I believe growing the women’s game starts with visibility. The way athletes are seen shapes how the sport is valued, who feels like they belong and how it continues to evolve.
